Money in a community is held in trust. Software should act like it.
SevaCircle began with an ordinary problem: a treasurer with a notebook, a group chat full of payment screenshots, and no straight answer to "did my contribution get recorded". The register was honest. It just could not answer quickly, and it could not answer to everybody at once.
What we build
A contribution and fund management system for temples, trusts and community organisations. Monthly contributions per fund, campaigns with a goal, a two-step payment approval, and a ledger where balances are the sum of entries rather than a number somebody typed.
An administrator works from the web panel. Members use the mobile app in English, Hindi, Gujarati or Punjabi. Both read the same books, so the two never disagree about what is owed.
What we will not do
We do not take custody of anybody's money. SevaCircle records what an organisation received and where it went; the money moves through the organisation's own accounts, exactly as it did before.
There is no public sign-up. Accounts are created by an organisation's administrator, because membership of a community is not something a form should be able to claim.
Four things that decide how it is built
Every figure is answerable
A balance is the sum of its entries. A due exists because somebody was put on a plan. An approval has a name attached. If a number cannot be traced to the thing that produced it, it does not belong on the screen.
Nothing is decided quietly
Two people approve a payment. Removing somebody from a plan is recorded with who and why. A waiver states which contribution it applies to. Silence is the failure mode we work hardest to avoid.
An organisation only sees its own
One person can belong to several organisations, and each of them sees only what is theirs. Money received by one organisation never settles another's books.
Members are not an afterthought
The person paying gets the same clarity as the person collecting: what is owed, what was paid, what is still open — in the language they actually read.
